Night Surgeons
Night surgeons are an interesting group who are necromancers and some warlocks, but mostly necromancers. A night surgeon is a special type of necromancer who deals in surgery. A lot of the night surgeons work with necromantic concepts and necromancy that they incorporate into their surgical practices. They also use methods that are considered more unconventional, and they are healers, extreme healers.
Many of them understand the concepts of reanimation. They understand the concepts of restoring the body and bringing the body back together after it’s been disassembled, disembowelled, or torn apart. Night surgeons have an incredible understanding of the physiology of the body and how it works. They will pull dead pieces back together for the purpose of reanimation, or the purpose of reintegration of the self. They understand the body after it has died, and the various stages of decomposition and decay. They’re actually incredible healers, as many of them have an understanding of surgical methods as well.
They are incredible healers, and work with unique energies. They can utilize powerful, potent, incredible energy, which can be healing and rejuvenating. This energy can restore the self and what has been lost. It shields against sludge. It’s a powerful energy. It’s kind of like an aquamarine-coloured energy. Night surgeons develop these different techniques, and they seek out unconventional methods—methods that might be considered a bit more unethical or a bit more, shady or immoral. They’ve got some very interesting practices that they do. This group deals with surgery that is also beyond life. So somebody who has died, or somebody who is dismembered in pieces, as night surgeons they can pull them back together, bring them back to restore them back to their state and reanimate them.
They also have different practices where they will do things that heal the body. Night surgeons understand sludge hooks. They understand astral parasites and the corrosive nature of the creatures that can get into the aura, and into us. They understand how these things work from Eldritch energy to creatures that are very corrosive and toxic. They can tend to specialize in that, and they understand how they work and what they do. They study them and they understand them. They will even seek out and study these malicious creatures, so they know exactly how they work and what they do. Even at times, they utilize these energies in order to bring healing, to help those who are struggling and suffering. They have very interesting techniques.
The difference between a surgeon and a night surgeon is that a surgeon will study the body and how to fix it. So they’ll look at someone and think, “Okay, this is a sludge hook, and this is what I have to do.” The night surgeon will go out and study the sludge, and they’ll understand the sludge on a deep level. They expose themselves to the energies of the sludge. The surgeon focuses more on healing and the night surgeon will focus on the entities that caused the destruction and the damage. The night surgeons will develop counter-methods in order to work with the malicious entity and heal their subject. They understand how the entity can be dismembered and figure out how the entity caused harm. They will find themselves often in very dark and sinister places, exploring very sinister and surreal creatures. Surgeons go out and heal, but their focus is on healing. Whereas a night surgeon, their focus is on acquiring this information, studying these creatures, studying the methods of disassemblement and the methods behind immortal death.
Night surgeons will study all these different fascinating things, and they will develop methods for working with them and healing with them. Some of the things they do are quite unconventional and extreme. They’ve got many of their own ways and methods of doing things. Where the surgeons have a singular school, are regulated, and generally must attend. Night surgeons are a bit of the Wild West but still very effective, as they understand what they are doing. They are very skilled, very talented in their healing practices, and are perfectly alright with going into dark and sinister places. They are willing to expose themselves to creatures and beings that are absolutely unhinged and dangerous.The night surgeons have no problem going into dens of sludge, the dens of Eldritch, or dens of any malicious and sinister creatures, to study and watch them.They will camouflage and disguise themselves, to watch and observe them. They will want to see what’s going on there and what is happening here.
Night surgeons are very good at observation, studying and bringing new information. They quite often will introduce new information from their discoveries, the things that they have done, and the places that they have been.They like to explore different areas. They’re really good companions for those who have very complex situations or are dealing with very malicious, terrible and dark entities. They have a great understanding of dark creatures, and they know what to do with them. They have methods to heal and methods to deal with these creatures.
Their methods can be very unconventional. Like, they might say “Well, this energy is corrosive and toxic, but it’s gonna melt away sludge. But after using it we have to heal what the corrosive, toxic energy did after it melted away the sludge.” They’ll utilize certain energies that are dark and sinister and corrosive to attain the result, and then heal the energies from that result.
They will sneak around graveyards and steal body parts. They will operate on things that are dead and explore the energies that are dead. They’ve got a fascination with it. Most night surgeons are necromancers, so it’s like a special line of necromancy while also being very good healers. They know what they are doing even if it’s very unconventional; it’s interesting the way they do and handle things.
Usually, when a night surgeon trains, they will seek out another night surgeon, and they will learn from them. They will learn their practices and their methods.They’re not really regulated like the Mutilation surgeon school as that one is highly regulated. Night surgeons can be very free-for-all, and all over the place, which is interesting in itself. They’re a really interesting, specialized group of necromantic healers that are amazing and fantastic companions.
