Abyssal Mers
In the darkness of the black ocean, live the Abyssal Mers. They live in the deep regions of the dark ocean where they love and embrace the darkness and cold depth of the water. They can come to the surface but there is an adjustment period, so they prefer the dark. They have a clairsentience with vision that lets them blend the energies to see how things flow together. This sense allows them to navigate and travel through the Abyssal realm and through the many dark regions. There are many interesting creatures, fish, ancient sharks who have been through many ordeals- some are part skeletal and there is a surreal essence to them that they interact with. There is a surreal essence to these mers and they love tranquility.
Abyssal mers can communicate telepathically and can move with silence and stealth through the water. They can teach their companion the deeper abyssal clairsentience skills that lets them see the energies; they can teach stillness and how to communicate telepathically. In the stillness one can think and expand. They love swimming in groups and linking minds together to move through the oceans. They have beautiful conversations in this way, and they love going into the depth of each other’s minds to flesh out ideas. They enjoy putting their thoughts out there and create almost webs of thoughts were ideas flow and grow. They can watch their thoughts flourish as it connects collectively which allows them to grow in profound ways. They have very advanced psychic abilities and can communicate to each other even from the furthest parts of the ocean. They can connect to minds that are open to them and have unique thoughts to explore.
Abyssal mers are connected to Leviathan and the Abyssal demons. They have shrines even dedicated to Leviathan; they see him as a god, the great serpent of the ocean. They have almost like burning water that looks like fire under water (but it’s not fire) that they have to honor Lord Leviathan. Their cities are also adorned with this eerie but beautiful dim blue light. This light is perfect to not hurt their eyes. The Abyssal demons will protect them and their realms. They also have the capacity to protect themselves but have the alliance with the demons of this area too.
